As a vital part of CRC (cold rolled coils) manufacturing, rollers can have many defects during this process and below are some roller defects and relative reasons:
1. Crack
The roller crack is caused by the partial pressure of rollers and the fast temperature variations on it. If the emulsion nozzles are plugged, the cooling condition of rollers will be affected and the cracks will have occurred. The temperature in winter is low than that of summer, which will be easier for crack occurence. As a vital part of CRC (cold rolled coils) manufacturing, rollers can have many defects during this process and below are some roller defects and relative reasons:
2. Scaling
If the cracks keep enlarging, they will convert into scaling. If the scaling is not so heavy, the roller can be reused after polishing, otherwise, the roller will be unworkable.
3. Roller stickiness
During the cold rolling process, the rollers can sometimes be stuck with the steel strips because of scraps, wavy folds and broken edges and the high temperature by high pressure.
4. Roller broken
The main reason for the roller broken is over-rolling (the rolling force is too large), defects inside rollers (non-metallic inclusions, bubbles) and stress fields caused by uneven roller temperatures.2. Scaling
If the cracks keep enlarging, they will convert into scaling. If the scaling is not so heavy, the roller can be reused after polishing, otherwise, the roller will be unworkable.
