The main difference between Sendzimir 20-high mills and other 4-bar mills is the different transmission directions of rolling forces. The rolling force of Sendzimir is transmitted from working rollers to middle rollers, then to supporting rollers and finally to the stubborn frame. The design assures the support of working rollers along the length side. This kind of rolling system is not easy to be out of shape and can guarantee the accurate thickness deviation along the width side.

There are several main features of Sendzimir rolling mills:

(1)The frame is the integrated one and of high rigidity, and the rolling forces have existed in the frame as radial patterns;

(2)The roller diameter is small and the rolling rate is high, reaching to 60% at most. Some materials do not require annealing during the process and can be directly rolled to very thin plates and strips.

(3)The roller shapes be adjusted along the radial and circumferential sides, roller diameters be compensated, rolling tracks be adjusted and the cylinder AGC system adopted, all of which have contributed to the good shape and precise sizes of products.

(4)The equipment is lightweight which the weight of rolling mills is only 1/3 of the equivalent 4-bar rolling mills. The investment is not huge because of the small sizes of rolling mills.
